I'm not a tech person, BUT.

If someone has 25,000 followers wouldn't he/she be better with a blog rather than a twitter feed? Apparently they are important.

BTW I'[m kind of proud that although I've heard of the guy (had to) I don't know what this Scoble guy does or why he is important. Is ignorance bliss?

It depends upon how you want to interface with people, and how people want to interface with you.

Let's say you're a Barack Obama supporter. Do you want to have to go to a blog to find out what he's doing, or do you want to see his updates in a service that you already use?

@WaveyDavey001: Yes, in Scoble's case, it really is.@oemperor: I'd rather a dedicated Obama blog, with services like Twitter filling in the gaps.

Re "is ignorance bliss," depends upon your perspective. I enjoy reading his stuff when he talks about things that interest me. A lot of his communication is via video, however, and I don't have the patience to watch a 5-10 minute video.

@oemperor Yes I'd prefer that Obama feeds were restricted. Not because I'm British (I'm more interested in USA politics than UK at the mo) but because it is really easy to add a RSS feed.

It is a fine line between self publicists and popular people. I think I know the difference, but it is difficult to explain.
